    Player & Parent Code of Conduct

    For all players and families

    Players and families represent Hayward Little League at all times. This includes games, practices, school, the community, and online.

    Player/Parent Expectations

    Players agree to:

    • Show respect to coaches, umpires, teammates, and opponents
    • Follow team rules and instructions
    • Give full effort at practices and games
    • Encourage teammates and use positive language
    • Never argue with umpires or engage in unsportsmanlike behavior
    • Respect uniforms, equipment, fields, and facilities
    • Never take, use, or handle another player's belongings/equipment without permission; no player is required to share their equipment

    Practice, Effort & Playing Time

    Playing time, batting order, and defensive positions are earned through practice attendance, effort, attitude, behavior, and safety. Players who miss practices may not be prepared or safe to play certain positions and may have limited playing time.

    Coach Authority

    Hayward Little League coaches are volunteers who give their time and heart to the league. They have full discretion to assign positions, lineups, and playing time based on skill, effort, development, safety, and team needs.

    Community, School & Online Conduct

    Players represent Hayward Little League at school, in the community, and online. Bullying, harassment, threats, or inappropriate conduct may result in discipline even if it occurs outside league activities.

    Disciplinary Action

    • Step 1Verbal warning
    • Step 2Reduced or withheld playing time
    • Step 3Removal from game or practice
    • Step 4Suspension
    • Step 5League review

    • Promote teamwork and sportsmanship
    • Follow league rules
    • Communicate respectfully

    Community & Online Conduct
